David Taylor & The Tallboys is a fresh, twangy rocknroll/alt-country group born after several beers and an impromptu jam session on a Monday night in early 2019. David, already a solo singer-songwriter in the Charlotte music scene, enlisted the help of friends Gersh Godwin on bass and Jason Cline on lead guitar. Not long after that Matt Sloop joined the band to fill out the lineup on drums.

After playing at house parties and local venues, the Tallboys took to Maldek Studios (homebase of drummer Matt Sloop) at the end of 2019 to record five songs for a soon to be released EP. Of course, 2020 and Covid-19 struck and slowed things down but the boys didn't stop. DT started writing songs during the pandemic and turned out more material than ever. Fast forward to the end of 2021, and the Tallboys announced their forthcoming EP titled "Get Me Drunk", set to be released on March 4th, 2022.

The five-song EP spans a range of topics, from imbibing too much while screaming into the void, seeing an old flame years later, to your parents finding you smoking weed in the bathroom. A mix of bangers, sad songs, and a little silliness, the EP was a long time in the making and an exciting release for the Tallboys.

Despite having only been a band since early 2019, David Taylor & The Tallboys have already started making waves in the music scene. They have played sold out shows at venues such as The Evening Muse and Snug harbor, and they've shared the stage with bands like The Black Lillies, Time Sawyer, The New Creatures, and many more. Their catchy brand of energetic twangy rocknroll draws you in and sticks with you long after you've had your last tequila shot for the night.
